Geneva Begay
THOREAU — Funeral services for Geneva Clara Begay, 35, will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 26, 2011, at the Thoreau Church of God. Dr. Rev Ray and Florence Barker will officiate. Burial will be in Thoreau Cemetery.
Begay died Sept. 20, 2011, in Gallup. She was born May 5, 1976, in Crownpoint into the Towering House People Clan for the Salt People Clan.
Begay graduated from Thoreau High School in 1995. She worked at numerous places including Walmart, Thoreau Chapter House and Dr. Valda Dentists office. Begay enjoyed traveling and being with family and friends.
Survivors include her sons Micah Tapaha and Isaiah Livingston; daughters Tyra Tapaha; mother Elsie Begay; brother Larry Peshlakai; sisters Virgina Charley, Carolyn Begay, Genevieve Wilson and Jarissa Henio and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father Fred R. Begay; stepfather Willie H. Begay; grandmother Mary Charley and Bizhabah Begay.
Pallbearers will be Micah Tapaha, Paul Charley, Kyle Charley, Stewart J. Wilson, Carl Charley and Calvin Charley Jr.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Thoreau Church of God in the Fellowship Hall following the burial.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Benny Gonzales
GALLUP — Services for Benny Gonzales, 51, will be announced at a later date.
Gonzales died Sept. 19, 2011, in Austin, Texas.
He was born June 7, 1960, in Gallup.
Diane K. Martine
RAMAH — Graveside services for Diane K. Martine, 56, will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 24, 2011, at the Ramah Latter-day Saints Cemetery. Bishop Martin Romine will officiate.
Martine died Sept. 22, 2011, in Zuni. She was born Sept. 14, 1955, in Ramah into the Green Meadow People Clan Born for the Mexican People Clan.
Survivors include her husband Cunningham K. Martine, of Albuquerque; son Victor K. Martine, of Albuquerque; father Tommy Pino, of Ramah; brothers Donald Pino, of Pine
Hill, and Julian Pino, of Ramah; sisters Cecelia Whitetail Eagle, of Ramah, Fannie P. Begay, of Concho, Ariz., Ida P. Henio, of Ramah, Estella P. Martine, of Ramah, and Loretta J. Pino and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother Nellie B. Pino.
Pallbearers will be Joseph T. Whitetail Eagle Jr. Anthony A. Pino, Cornelius Henio, Larry Pino and Jose Chavez.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
